Art, culture and community came together for the Harlem Renaissance Everyday People Block Party on Saturday, August 25.

From the chalk on the sidewalks and the aromatic scent radiating from food trucks, to the sounds of live music and poetry, this arts festival created an opportunity for people to gather and enjoy the best of what Columbus has to offer.

On the sidewalk, a portrait of Aretha Franklin came to life.

The neighborhood porches transformed into stages for poetry and musical performances.

The sidewalks became an urban playground. Life-size games and interactive installations engaged children and adults alike.
